Touch a Truck Day

Yesterday was Touch a Truck Day in Norman America. The Mom's Club of Norman pulls together all of these emergency response vehicles, construction equipment, big rigs, even a few race cars and a helicopter together at the fairgrounds for kids to play with/on/around. They let you get in them, pretend to drive them, and, unfortunately, honk the horns or run the sirens.

As I am sure you can all guess, we have a certain young man whose heart fairly sang at the sight of all the TRUCKS. Here are some of the best shots...

(P.S. Dear Max, we will touch trucks when you are a wee bit bigger. Don't be alarmed! Love, Aunt Erin)

Buckle up for safety in the Backhoe! Yes people, we saw a backhoe. His little head almost exploded with joy.

Theo's Shades

Before Theo and I went to Elizabeth's recital (P.S., AWESOME) we went and picked up some new shades...because that's necessary for our level of coolness.

Completely and totally unbelievable cuteness.

Here he is in his shades...he dug checking himself out in the visor in the car. He was pretending he was driving, you know, from the passenger seat. (Yes, we were parked, everyone calm down.)

Here we are rocking our shades together...

Packing: a Jinx or No?

I am pretty scared to start packing...like somehow that will jinx the entire process and I won't get my loan or my house will be the one and only hit by a tornado in Norman America.

HOWEVER, there are precisely 20 days until I supposedly move. So I don't really have time for playing around either.

So I settled on packing my books. Only 2 to 3 are necessary for daily living so the rest of them can go in boxes and then come out just as easily if I do in fact jinx myself. Also, for normal people packing books would maybe be a morning activity, but it has so far involved 12 boxes for me. And I haven't started on textbooks. Yeah...I have a problem...

So let's all hope that packing is not a jinx and that being proactive will pay off on May 3...

(Also, packing boxes = AWESOME FORT with a certain young man we all know and love...)

Update

1. The test was HORRENDOUS and I have no idea. I won't know until May 2. You know, a week before I am supposed to graduate. It's cool.

2. Speaking of May 2, that's the day I CLOSE ON THE HOUSE! They took the offer and I am so grown up I don't even know what to do with myself. Barring any unforeseen obstacles I'll be a homeowner in like 3.5 weeks. Holy crap...

OK People...Happy Thoughts...

1. I take my comprehensive exams tomorrow. You know, to see if I can GRADUATE. Go ahead and think those are as bad as they sound because they are.

2. I made an offer on a house today. WHAT? I know. Not exactly the day to do it when I am all strung out on test anxiety and nonsense. But I was afraid someone else was going to get it...

Basically, I'm a woman on the edge.
