HAMMER TIME

I totally forgot about this picture until I was pulling others off of my camera....He was talking to MiMi on both the real phone AND his hammer phone. Because it was HAMMER TIME. And I totally got him to say that part too....

Things I Learned

1. All of the circuit breaker thingies should be ON. Then the stove will work.

2. Yappy dogs are pretty much kept inside when you are LOOKING at a house. When you have BOUGHT the house every dog in a 3 block radius barks at you and the Lowe's man.

3. Refrigerators are very large. They will take up more space than you realize.

4. Houses don't automatically come with mailboxes. Or towels bars and toilet paper holders.

5. Pilot lights are totally scary and should involve a trained professional...or one of your best friend's husbands...

6. If all of the boxes are in the garage you totally feel unpacked...until you can't find your toothbrush.

7. Moving men need lots of smoke breaks.

8. There is just stuff you NEED at Bed Bath and Beyond. You absolutely NEED it.

9. Watching your dog slide across hard wood and hit every wall in the house in excitement is NOT funny. So don't laugh at her when she starts to angle her butt to walls because she knows she's not going to stop.

10. Neighbors have children who have pretend automatic weaponry that makes very real noise. This is apparently just a fact of life.

Packing, Closing, Packing, Moving, Packing

Guess what? Someone actually let me buy a house!!! I know, can you believe it??

I closed on my little happy hacienda yesterday and decided that in real life the seller and I wouldn't be friends but she was ok for this. Then I went and twirled around my house and laid on the floor in the master bedroom and talked on the phone. It was awesome.

Some perks of getting a house? People give you COOL things! When I got home (for the first time) there was a hanging plant on my porch from my boss! How sweet is that? And THEN Jenn and John brought me my graduation present...a dresser from the Phi Mu house! They rescued it from certain doom when the house closed so I would have a piece of it!!! How unbelievably awesome is that? I totally teared up. Future reference: if you stay in the guest/Theo's/Abby's/Mom's room you will totally see it and love it.

Unfortunately, this entire endeavor involves PACKING. You should all probably know this is NOT something I am good at and I am SOOO not done. Even now, I should be packing the computer, not typing on it.

On that note, I am off to meet the refrigerator men with my new wonderful ginormous refrigerator and take Theo's toys over there ("Ewin, in your new house are there new toys??") so when my sister comes to help me he can play.

Holy bananas I am excited. Come to Norman, it's going to be awesome.
