Michigan was pretty fab--as usual. There is something nice and special about
your place and I think everyone should have one and know where it is. Easier access to it would also be appreciated.
This year was fun because I took Elisa and Abby--two Dune Newbies--to el lago to see how it fared for others. It was also sort of weird because neither Nana and Papr or Aunt Shoe and Uncle Holt were there--a first in my life. So weird. But I managed to handle the boats, maybe more like Gilligan than the Skipper, and I found the grocery store after only getting a little lost.
Some evidence of fun:
Elisa and Abby in front of Little Point Sable, I learned something new on the Dune Ride, sable means sand in French. Who knew that sable meant sand and Little Point Sable is talking about the sand? I was SO impressed!

Here Elisa and Abby are in front of Mac Woods Dune Rides, a family favorite.

Here I am doing the dip...aka eating at the Whippy Dip. Possibly not the best ice cream on the lake, but since the Whippy Dip was the reward for being good when I was little my pavlovian response is to WANT WHIPPY DIP.

The three of us in front of the 4th of July sunset down on the Simpson/Denman beach. It was cold! And wonderful! We drove back down here and remembered what swelter means...
There you go folks. Check out Abb's blog for more details... Now for a momentary pause at home to do laundry and repack fro Maryland.
